Central Maui is the hub of Maui, the busiest and most populous spot on the Island.
This is where you will find the Airport, Costco, the shipping port, and most of the major retailers and home improvement stores on the Island. Home to mostly long time residents, business owners, and hospitality workers, Kahului is the gateway to all of Maui.
Higher on the West Maui hills is Wailuku, which has a delightful old downtown district, some stylish new shops and restaurants, and is the seat of Maui County government.
